UDD DX Articulated Down Jacket, Vintage Black

Born in 1941 in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, Nanga is a manufacturer of down products dedicated to domestic production at Kawada Feather. Down feathers are composed of hard keratin and carbon, making them inherently durable materials. These natural resources have superior properties, allowing them to withstand use for over 100 years, or even 200 years with proper care and processing. To process the raw down, we choose to draw extremely soft water with a hardness level of 3 from a pure source in Mt. Odaigahara. This pristine water requires less detergent and has high penetrating power, allowing it to reach every structural cavity of the down and remove even the finest particles of dirt and oils. Its weak-alkaline properties help revive and repair the feathers. The water quality is perfect for processing down, which is why we chose to activate production for the collection in this area.

The UDD DX Articulated Down Jacket is engineered for superior warmth and comfort in harsh winter conditions. The down sourced from Spain delivers superior loft and natural water-repellency, while an extended stand collar offers enhanced coverage against the elements. Integrated baffle pocketing provides secure chest storage for eyewear alongside zippered hand pockets to protect essentials. Details includes a two-way zipper, custom corozo buttons derived 100% naturally from the seeds of palm trees, anchored on a grosgrain ribbon and cinch cords at the waist for an adjustable fit. Crafted from 100% Japanese nylon taffeta with a dry-to-the-touch finish, the shell fabric delivers lasting durability and feather retention.
